The Greeley/Weld Senior Foundation (GWSF) was founded in 1991 by Dr. Max Shirley, a retired professor from the University of Northern Colorado, with a vision to honor the invaluable contributions of older adults in our community.

We host a Hall of Fame event that proudly celebrates the remarkable contributions of our volunteers, fostering a strong sense of community and bringing people together in shared appreciation and connection, alongside our dedicated efforts to distribute grants that support and empower local senior centers.

Grant Distribution

We proudly distribute grants to Weld County senior centers through a careful application process, providing crucial funding that enables these centers to enhance existing programs, improve services, and develop innovative new programming that enriches the lives of our senior community members
